“H.E. Dr. Safwat El Sherif spoke at a luncheon hosted by CEBC, on the vital role of the media in the development of the Egyptian economy. The successful luncheon was organized by CEBC, on 13th January 2004, at the Cleopatra Hall of the Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel. Held in honor of H.E. the Minister of Information, the event was attended by many of Egypt’s most prominent individuals. Among these the CEBC was honored to host Mr. Adly Hussein, the Governor of Kalyoubia, Dr. Fayza Abou El Naga, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Hitler Tantawy, Chairman of Administrative Control Authority, H.E. Michel de Salaberry, Canadian Ambassador and H.E. Mr. Ferdinand Trauttmansdorff, Austrian Ambassador to Egypt. Discussing the role of the media in the promotion and enhancement of the country’s economy, the Minister outlined the efforts of the Ministry of Media and Information undertaken with the aim of helping Egypt meet the demands of a world characterized by high information technology penetration and globalization.”
