Description
“On November 7th 2006 Eng. Motaz Raslan, Chairman of the Canada Egypt Business Council (CEBC), held his organisation’s monthly dinner at the Cairo Marriott Hotel, Zamalek. The occasion is relevant to ACT as the guest speaker was His Excellency Dr. Tarek Kamel, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). The event attracted companies from every sphere of the ICT sector, as well as high ranking politicians. Kamel spoke of the potential with Canada – a technologically astute nation with much to offer in the form of education and training. Kamel was of the opinion there is a great deal to be gleamed from an exchange of ideas, trade and knowledge between Egypt and Canada which, as of today, is not being exploited to its full potential. His Excellency Dr. Tarek Kamel and Eng. Motaz Raslan hope to remedy this in a 2007 trade mission to Canada. Kamel spoke of his enthusiasm and intention to accompany a number of Egyptian companies and institutions in the ICT sector. After the completion of his speech the floor was opened for questions. Kamel deftly responded to queries regarding Wimax, the third mobile generation and the international gateway.”
