A vision of Egypt’s technological future and the contribution of the L.E. 3 billion Smart Village development to that vision was elaborated upon by Dr. Ali El Hefnawi, Chairman and CEO of Smart Village Egypt on the January 12th 2005 meeting of CEBC’s Information and Communication Technology Committee. A lively discussion about the role of the Smart Village and how government and private industry can best support the balanced growth of “E-Egypt” ensued; including some debate about the need to support small and medium sized IT companies.
