Egypt – Canada bilateral and trade relations:
Egypt and Canada established diplomatic relations in 1954. Since that time, both countries have enjoyed warm ties with a wide range of areas of common interests and cooperation.
In 2007, the Total Canadian Investment in Egypt is figured to be 1.3 Billion Egyptian Pound. The increase of investment between Egypt and Canada is not only about statistical figures, but due to the Know-how that facilitated the business process. Trade agreements for the transfer of raw materials has highly increased Egypt’s exports.
Trade Mission Objectives:
1) Promoting Egypt in Canada, to inform the Canadian community with its different stakeholders (ranging from business community to parliamentarians to government officials to academic institutions to aid donors and to Canadians of Egyptian origin) on the latest developments that have taken place in Egypt on the political and economic fronts.
2) Enhancing Trade and Investment Relations in different fields.
3) Focus Cooperation On Specific Fields, where Egypt can benefit from the Canadian experience.
4) Help in solving some of the social problems that face Canadians of Egyptian origin in issues related to voting in elections, passport issuing, etc.
